DEGREE-SEEKING

Departments admit degree-seeking applicants only starting in the fall semester (August). Under special circumstances, applicants may be considered in other semesters. The sequence of courses is designed for students entering in the fall.

The priority deadline for the receipt of the completed and verified application and all required supporting documents from all applicants for fall semester is January 5 or the next business day, should it fall on a holiday or weekend. The Rollins School of Public Health participates in a centralized application service called SOPHAS (Schools of Public Health Application Service). Applicants can access the admissions application here. All application materials should be sent directly to SOPHAS.

A complete set of application documents includes the following: the online application (includes personal statement and work/research/volunteer history), one transcript from each postsecondary institution attended (international transcripts must be evaluated by World Education Services [WES]), and completed reference letters from at least two individuals. The GRE is not required for admission to most of our academic programs. The department of Biostatistics offers a GRE optional policy. Students applying to BIOS can submit a GRE score for consideration. The GRE score must be submitted at the same time as the application for admission.

Applications should be submitted well in advance of the deadline to ensure consideration for merit-based scholarships. Applications received or completed after the deadline will be considered on a space available basis and the admissions decision is made within 6-8 weeks. Applicants whose files are completed and verified in SOPHAS by the January 5 deadline are typically notified of their admission decision by the end of January.
